My main problem is ranking Ride the Lightning over Master of Puppets...
Nah dude, Ride was way better! (or was I testing the Metallica fans?) Mwah, hah hah!

Surely Gretsch's Brian Setzer models should be on the list.
Nah, it's not exactly 'the best', good but wouldn't be on my radar.

Yes, I suppose a lot of it depends on your tastes in guitars.

I'd have a Billy Duffy signature over a Setzer for example

I've never played one of those, so couldn't really comment, to be fair.

The people that are chipping in telling you you’re wrong...
    Did you want their opinion?
Not being a dick or owt, just seems like they’re being dismissed as incorrect??
    Maybe I’ve read it wrongly.

Nah, they all are valid, just giving my opinions on the guitars being suggested. Believe me, I am not the one who is right in this game...

    MusicMan?
JP6 & 7 - really good, versatile guitars. As are the Steve Morse & Lukes.
    And Strandberg's Plini?

I've owned the JP6 and JP7 both nice, but I find the necks too small, though not too thin and so I had to get rid of them. Nice, but not as high on my scale of great guitars.

Great trem system and the 'scoop' is really good idea, makes playing more comfortable. I never used the piezo on either of the ones I owned, so it wasn't a consideration. Likewise, I never used the Piezo on my Parker Fly either...

Yeah the Luke with EMGs my mate owns is terrific!

Never played a Majesty, as it looks like a D&D cosplayers battle axe and scares me...

Only sig guitar I've owned is a Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessean way back in the early 70s.
Very nice it was too but I swapped it for a Ducati.

Steve Stevens' first signature models were Hamers, then he was with Washburn for a while.  Stevie Salas had a Hamer too - not sure if it was an actual sig model - then at some point he endorsed Yamaha Weddington LP types.  And again, he had a Washburn model.

Now I'm thinking '80s and '90s, Blues Saraceno:

  • interesting choosing the snakebyte over the iron cross. which seems to me a bit more iconic. Also what about the JS series?
