Interesting question... they have guitar on them, she tours with a guitarist etc.

She's really reinvented herself with each new album.

The first album was very pure pop/dance - a very typical example being first mega-hit "New Rules".

Her second record, was basically a disco-revival record musically, with some very modern production touches.  Like all disco-type music - the guitar parts are important - but often the bass parts even more so - "Don't Start Now" has a lovely bass line.

The new one seems to be doing it's own modern-pop thing - though recent single Houdini has a quite fun if very simple fuzz guitar solo at the end...

Yeah, she's great. I also have a soft spot for Camila Cabello, Jessie Ware, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Meghan Trainer et al – I guess I like female pop. Anyway, I haven't listened to everything she's produced, but her debut album is excellent, "Garden" is my favourite track.

Dua Lipa’s got it going on.

I'm hardly a big fan but she's good at what she does. Also consistently has the best basslines in modern pop by MILES

Why is it that sometimes comments like these pass almost unnoticed on the FB, other times they're the work of filthy sexist beasts?  I'm not passing judgement either way, just musing.  We're not very consistent.

She’ll always be eleven years younger than me. So unless she turns to junk food and drugs, I imagine she’ll always be quite fanciable in my eyes.

I'm quite looking forward to Dua's new album - apparently has a Britpop influence - which I can't hear in the singles to date - but both are very clever modern pop songs.

I also was able to pre-order it on a cool light blue vinyl .. "Curacao Blue" apparently...
