So we’ve done albums with the worst covers - but which are the best covers?

I’ll start...

Any of the Yes albums with Roger Dean artwork.

Down by the Jetty - Dr Feelgood.  The black and white photo of the band somehow just captures something about the band.

The Band - The Band. As above except for the photo being sepia.

London Calling - The Clash.  Just iconic.

I did think of DSOTM and Sgt Pepper but suspect that they have become great over time rather than being instant greats.

And maybe London Calling but mostly because it riffs so well on the Elvis Presley cover

A bit pompous, but I really like the covers of all the mid/late '70s Kansas albums, especially the way they tweaked the Kansas logo each time.

Some others will probably spring to mind.
