The Best Guitar You Bought 2021

What's Hot

Hey all. What’s the best guitar you bought this year? Show pictures!

I've bought and sold quite a few guitars this year. Mostly by selling what I have and then buying something new with the proceeds.

I think the best guitar I bought this year is this Yamaha SG1820.

It sounds great, looks great, plays great, it has excellent build quality and the tuning stability is very good. These were reduced from £3K to £2K recently and it seems like that's an excellent price point for them.

What about you? Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

2005 Fender CS Greg Fessler designed ltd ed 64 Strat.

Been after one since 2005 when I had my own little Pretty Woman moment, after being told there was no way I could afford one by the manager in Reverb in Stockton.

    Belting strat.

  • Hard to say. The one that gets played most is certainly my 1978 Fender Mustang. For whatever reason it is just fun to play.

Only new guitar this year was my first Epiphone, an Emily Wolfe Sheraton that I had customised by the guys at Feline with a pickup and hardware swap. Gigged numerous times, it plays and sounds great

I love the standards. I had a 1990 Standard 24 years ago, one of the most beautifully built guitars I’ve come across. Had to sell during the recession for some cash and wasn’t able to buy it back years later. Would be worth probably double what I paid for it now, very underrated

The right kind of PRS - no birds, no fancy wood, just fantastic build quality and great playability and tone.

I slightly wish you hadn't posted that, in fact... I still miss mine :(.

The only good news is that they don't hold their value well, so buying one back may not be as expensive as you (or I) fear.

I bought 4 this year, only sold 3 so there's no room for another for some time.
A Vantage Avenger AV310 I finished in white nitro.
    A Westone Raider 1 in silver/grey/black glitter.
A Fazley tele and this, the epi 2020 "inspired by" lp special.
helluva guitar for the money, not played it much as I've been busy with other projects and it needs some fettling.

Having not bought a guitar for years I went mad during the tail end of this year and bought four.

All Squiers, I started with a CV Jaguar, followed by a CV Tele and a Contemporary Strat.

The final purchase has turned out to be my favourite of the four, and the cheapest, an Affinity Jazzmaster with a Strat bridge.

My pictures are always rubbish unless there's some decent light outside so you'll have to make do with someone else's picture for now.
