Can’t post photos but I’ve had a good year.

Gretsch Brian Setzer in black, best playing and sounding Gretsch I’ve played. Love it.

12 Fret Gibson J-45 limited to 44 in the world. Great guitar this and quite different being a 12 fret model.

Atkin ED-18 absolutely love this thing, closest I’ve got to capturing the vibe of pre war Martins and really not expensive considering.

Eastman Mandolin Md 415, gorgeous little thing and looks cool as hell.

Danelectro Baritone, only just got this, mainly for recording but it’s so cool for how little they cost.

Coming soon is a proper players issues 64 345 and hopefully a new Tele ( which I hope will be a 60’s refin ) but I haven’t found one yet.

My Gretsch G2420T in gold. Fabulous guitar for the money, though I have put a couple of hundred quids worth into the mod's, including new bridge, pickups, knobs and pickguard.

I haven't bought a guitar (or amp or pedal) this year!  First time in a very long time - probably since the 90s.

I like the strap on that blue (or is it surf green?) Tele.  Nice quality.  Looks comfy.

My two best purchases for 2021 are more humble offerings, but I'm not embarrassed to say what they are compared with all the expensive guitars showing in this thread.

Cherry Burst Harley Benton SC-450 Plus LP copy - new.
Levinson Blade 1993 Texas Standard Pro (Strat) Candy Apple Red.

.....   No, wait, maybe it's the Ibanez AS73G-NT semi-acoustic in natural finish ...... hmmm ....... nope, the vintage white Artist Guitars ST62 is an exceptional guitar for the money and is more "stratty" than some Strats I have owned.

Can I change my mind?  It's actually the acoustic I bought that tops out in terms of value for money, playability, and overall sound.

Harley Benton Custom Line CLD-41SE WN.  Just shy of £300 but looks, feels and sounds like a £700+ guitar..
Clearly inspired by the 1969 onwards Martin D-41 with flattened hexagonal abalone fretboard inlays, abalone binding and soundhole rosette, neck volute, centre back seam design, gold tuners, and the other decorations seen on a D-41.  It has a solid sitka spruce soundboard with slight bear claw (I think you call it) figuring, solid walnut back and sides, dark Pau Ferro fretboard with white binding up around the headstock, bone nut and saddle, and Fishman Presys electrics.

An early run of a Vintage (JHS) SG Junior, One piece mahogany, Tv Yellow over Cherry. Someone cheekily put Gibbo stickers on it before I got it. Better than any Gibson SG Jr I've ever played

  • I've not bought a guitar this year! An amp, and a few pedals, but no guitar. Some of these are lovely though!

I think it was the only one in 2021 so it wins by default…although it is a beauty.

Best one yet. Not just 2021.

Works best for my ears, hands, everything better than any guitar I've owned. So far.

I only bought one guitar this year, it's actually the cheapest one in my collection but I absolutely love it.  I paid more for some pedals.

PRS SE One, Korina body, modded with extra Tone Knob, CTS pots and Monty's 54 P90.

    @Schnozz ;

It’s a 2006 Fender American Deluxe FMT Strat. They made them for a couple of years.
Mahogany body, maple cap, ebony ‘board, roller nut, locking tuners, recessed heel, S1 switch and noiseless pickups. Basically Fender doing a super Strat.
Very versatile with the S1 switch and plays lovely with the 9.5” neck.

  • My Vintera Roadworn Tele Deluxe. Absolutely love it (though it’s currently in getting a little fret work done and a nice set up. Can’t fault it at all.

I only bought one guitar this year, which is a classical - you know what those look like :) - because I felt like trying something different that would stretch me a bit, and I finally found one that has a shallow enough neck that it doesn't give me cramps.

I'm not sure it's for me though - I've found it a bit frustrating to play anything I really like the sound of on and I just get stuck doing the same stuff. I got on a lot better with the Ibanez RG550 I borrowed over the summer, also to try something different.

Nothing at all, this year. No actual guitars the year before, although I bought a couple of kits and bits, for something to do, during lockdown. I can’t see me buying another guitar..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

  • Two guitars for me this year.

A Fender American Special strat (my first real Strat) and a Squier Badtz Maru Bronco bass, which my daughter promptly nicked from me.

Hard to say which is “best”. The Strat I suppose, but it’s not much good for playing baselines…
