This, the only guitar I bought in 2021. Haven't had a S***t in years. After a set up, quite a revelation.

    Less is more

Have you tried prune juice every morning? Keeps me nice and regular.

Bought 3 this year, Fender Roadworn Strat, American Pro II Tele, but this is probably the one that inspires me the most, quirky and not one I’m always in the mood for, but when it catches me right, it does what a great guitar does, inspires new ideas.

Not my picture, but same thing.

    Shoreline Gold?
I'll confess I'm not too sure but it's a gorgeous nitro finish.  The whole thing is just superb.
I think it’s actually Aztec gold. Lovely.

I didn't buy any guitars in 2021, but I did make three, of which this is the best (i.e. most suited to my needs)

I'm trying to wean myself off pretty guitars - but fkme that's beautiful.

  • Bought six guitars in the last year ... classiest one is an Ibanez AM93 Artcore Expressionist with Suhr SSV pickups, Suhr tailpiece and Grover locking tuners ... with pro-setup it's beautiful to hear and a dream to play.

Best outcome of the year ... full restoration of a redundant/unloved/forgotten about 1986 Westone Spectrum DX ... MIJ at its best and unadulterated fun to play a genuine 80's super-strat.

I technically bought it in 2019/20. But I took delivery end of March 2021. My Feline Phat Tabby Special with Bare Knuckle Rebel Yells & a Schaller Floyd. Candy Apple Red nitro finish.

I only bought one this year and off of this very forum.

A 12 year old Fender Classic '70's in lovely condition.

Weighty because of its ash body but a real beauty I enjoy playing.

I do love the Classic series.

    I bought a Strat!

It's a 55 custom shop relic. With light swamp Ash body, big U shape neck and handwound 55 pickups.

A strat for tele fans maybe.

I've only bought the one guitar in 2021 - a very nice mint Yamaha LL6RM ARE that I picked up at a great price with a hard case on EBay:

I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

  • Not my photos, but I got one of these anyway, an Ibanez Mikro Paul Gilbert signature model, in white. It came out of the box with a really, really high action, which I lowered a bit. The stock pickups are perfectly functionally fine, but I just REALLY fancied some AlNiCo 2s and so had those installed and had the guitar set up. The action is lower now and plays really well. It's a lot of fun, extremely light, sounds a bit more "open" with the Vansons, and I pretty much can't put it down. Being on the diminutive side of the height spectrum myself, the shorter scale is so much easier to work with. A miniature RG, what in the world!

Then of course there is That Schecter, which I bought but promptly returned due to buzzy frets. Then again, the stainless steel frets, and perhaps the ebony fretboard as well were quite an experience. It was so "easy" to play It made me reconsider a lot of choices that I had made in the guitar realm of my life. I didn't even know who Keith Merrow was, I had to look him up! I jumped at the guitar because the specs had all the right boxes ticked, and it looked every bit like it could have come out of a Muji store, a Japanese brand that makes good quality but inconspicuous houseware, clothes, bags, stationery. TLDR, I am NOT paying over a grand for a buzzy guitar without a hard case and set up so very poorly, wolf-in-sheep's-clothing or not!

So here we are, bought two, retuned one, kept one. Funny how both were signature models, but it really did just turn out that way.
