Deep Purple - Anyone’s daughter is an awful country dirge. These kind of lyrics may well have been about the kind of japes they got up to, but it does not make for good listening.

Well, it was an interesting diversion; it did say that it's OK for people who like rock to listen to country too.
    Definitely B-side material, though.

I'm not a massive Clapton fan so I'm probably missing out some dross but Wonderful Tonight is awful. It reminds me of that Chris de Burgh dirge.

Chris de Burgh also wrote that awful nah narnah nah narnah nah narnah nah Christmas song so has the distinction of being on this list at least twice.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I’d also nominate Lennon’s Imagine. Tuneless dirge that could hardly be made worse even if you added an X Factor style full tone lift and strings for the final chorus.

"Imagine no possessions" except for this enormous house I've got.

Sabbath's Changes was atypical of their stuff and unpleasant.

Pink Floyd, everything after The Wall*
I think to be fair, you really could include most of their output up to - and including - that point as well.. :)

    Unpopular but...

    Crowded House- Weather With You.

A dirge compared to the rest of their stuff.

It's decades since i listened to Paranoid, the album, but even  thinking about Planet Caravan still makes me cringe, a veritable WTF moment.

    Always loved that as well.

Sometimes when you listen to whole albums you need a Planet Caravan or a Fluff or Changes or whatever to take you on that journey even if they seem a bit odd out of context.

I like Planet Caravan and Fluff, but not Changes.

Changes is fine, just not the version with Ozzy and Kelly.

    That’s even worse…

… but at least they didn’t take a good Sabbath song and ruin it :).

Ships in the Night - Be Bop Deluxe..
They done some wicked stuff,,some of it really Cheesy, but here was a band with a guitar player who could play his ass off..
The difference was that they wrote Pop Songs or played with other formats,,but it wasn't your usual heavy music of the time.
Ships in the Night is dull compared to the rest of their output..Some of their lyrics were cheese, but the music great fun and I feel almost with an innocence about it..

Wishbone Ash - Where Were you Tomorrow off the Pilgrimage Album..
You've just got as mellow as you can with this blissed out Pastoral Music..
Then as loud as possible a high energy live track bursts in,it is not only jarring and irritating..
Back when I used to herbally relax myself..
It was the equivalent of the Drug Squad kicking the Door down..

Ob-la-di Ob-la-da has to be worse than Maxwell's Silver Hammer..
The little chord change where it goes to a minor chord and you don't expect it on Your Mother Should Know,
    I think is great..

Killer - Van Der Graaf Generator - worst thing they ever wrote..
That is the song most often played to represent them..
peter Hammill was usually an amazing lyricist,,what was he thinking..

More Fool me - Genesis - Why put that on there when the rest of Selling England by the Pound is a masterpiece..

Planet Caravan I Love...Changes not so much..

The Cure,,Most of the Music between Faith and Disintegration..
Pornography was too Dark,Wrist slashingly so..
Then you have slightly likeable lightweight Pop..
Then Disintegration musically sounds like what should have came after Faith..

I know The Police were outstanding musicians,,but to me they are a singles band..

Mother's Lament, the last track on Disraeli Gears.

So shit I deleted it from my iTunes library - the advantage of that over CD or vinyl.

Nirvana - Polly, especially the Nevermind version. Truly terrible
The Idles - anything off the new album, just doesn’t grab me at all
The Kinks - dedicated follower of fashion does nothing for me
The Cure - Friday I’m in Love, soulless attempt at something commercial on an otherwise great album
