The arms are not aluminium. you can see on the one i have aged its still very shiny after the bleach bath. It is likely it has a layer of copper under the plating, but I don't think we are seeing it here

The back stripe. Definitely not a neck repair or laminate. Likely not maple. Actually looks to be an aluminum or chrome strip, which is what i originally thought and had written off as a bad memory due to most of the replicas going with maple or white paint.
Pickup is nickel, and slightly recessed. There is something under the trem, and more holes. Neck pickup doesnt have a cut off bit, just a badly fitting guard. Trem arm definietly doesnt have a copper bit.

At the moment I'm not sure i would want something with ridges as it would change the feel of the neck... but a plain aluminium strip shouldnt be too difficult. Function still comes first.
Notice also that the width of the empty channel on the back matches the width of the trim. In the other crappy pics it looks to change width and be narrower here, but i don't think it actually should be.
