These look quite interesting, not too expensive at £599 either, especially if has V-types like the 1x12.

Exclusive to Fair Deal Music in Brum apparently - https://www.fairdealmusic.co.uk/products/marshall-dsl402cr-40w-2x12-combo-amplifier?_pos=1&_sid=5c2cf5c37&_ss=r

    I don’t know anyone that wanted a 212 DSL40. A head yes. Loads.

    That's because 2 x 12 combo amps are just a bad idea.

I didn't know they had stopped making DSL heads, what a fail

Wow, I wondered what Marshall R&D had been up to for the last 10 years.

I love my dsl40cr too but wish the reverb was actually audible.

A DSL40 that would sit on top of a vertical cab.
    Yes please.

    I’d like a DSL40 212. But I’ve already got a 401. This product is a decade too late.

Same thoughts 're the reverb on my JCM2000 DSL401.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I really fancy getting one of these to try against my JVM205 combo.

I do get them doing a 2x12 version though as the additional speaker would definitely make it sound bigger and, presumably, “better” for gigging.

The main thing I think they’ve got wrong is not having side handles on it. Completely impractical.

Stupid. I remember one of the things I loved about the JCM900 combos was that even the little 1x12” ones had the proper full-size side handles - it made them so easy to lift up on top of things as well as into cars etc.

You can buy the handles from Marshall and fit them yourself, but you really shouldn’t have to.

For anyone still interested, this somewhat odd 'Fair Deal Music exclusive' amp is now also available at GuitarGuitar but for £200 less - https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/230223400968008--marshall-dsl402-limited-edition-2x12-combo-valve-amp

Strikes me as a damn decent deal at that price, less than the 1x12.

What speakers do these have for £399?!?!?

They omitted the weight of it.   Probably because there wasn't enough space on the website to fit just how many kilograms it must weigh

The fact that it has speakers for £399 is probably enough :)

You buggers are putting my bank balance in jeopardy!

The current 1x12 model has a V-Type IIRC so I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t have two of the same.

As for weight, when I first investigated these I’m sure I saw somewhere that they are around 30kg, so less than a modern AC30 and 4.5kg less than a JVM410C.

Crucially however these DON’T have side grab handles like the JVM does, which is a big turnoff for me on a wide format 2x12 combo these days.

27.5kg according to the spec on the Fair Deal link in my original post, so not too bad.

2.5kg more than a MkIV Hot Rod Deville.
