An original 72 has a thick poly base with a nitro topcoat. Poly isn’t vintage correct either

This is hard to see, bad photo.. but you can see the jagged clear coat outline chips...
CS stuff is different (as it should be given the huge premium you pay), but I'd feel no more certain of getting a perfect AVII than I would of getting a perfect mid-range MIM when buying online.
I don't entirely mean that as a criticism.
