Still had a bit left over but not much. I think I was being fuelled by the huge plate of mash I got served last night - I'm generally trying to keep carb intake on the low side while I'm trying to lose weight.
Just finished off a 5km run on the treadmill. Still bothered about the discrepancy between my watch and the treadmill but I've just decided to follow the treadmill/Zwift as it's the slower of the 2 and therefore more realistic.
5k pace is 38 minutes. I'd love for it to be lower but I guess I've got to remember that even running for more than a minute had me gasping for breath just 2 months ago.
Current plan is to do a weekly 5km, a 30 minute interval session (5 mins 5k pace, 2 minutes my 1 mile pace rinse and repeat) and either one or two "quick" one mile runs.
I'm also going to start adding in some body weight exercises focusing mainly on my core (my right side is a little weak following from health issues from last year). I think I'll be doing 2 full body circuits a week and try and get 10 minutes of core work in everyday.
I'm going to do this throughout March and possibly start a 10k training plan after that.
Hope everyone is doing well and working towards their goals.
I've been feeling absolutely knackered this week - perhaps a bug (though no other symptoms), or perhaps just after-effects of the previous week skiing plus a long drive home. As a result I've only managed to get out twice, so feeling a bit under-prepared for the Cambridge Half next weekend.
Hoping that a couple of short leg-looseners this week will bring back the mojo. (The same weather as today would be nice, too!)
