Tele shaped objects that aren’t tele’s?

I know you lot know all the weird and wonderful stuff that’s out there so help me please. 

I don’t want a tele but I want a tele. 

What do I want?

I like tele like shapes but not classic tele like sounds. So stuff like P90’s or cabronita’s have my attention but there must be other stuff out there?

Whereas this is Tele-like, but with standard Tele pickups …

@Jonathangus  good shout with the JA90 forgot about that. 

I’m not adverse to tele sounds but I always find the neck to be a bit wooly and the bridge a bit scratchy.

Trying to avoid humbuckers I have those covered with other guitars. 

I’d like to have the next one be a good Swiss Army knife of a guitar. People tell me it’s Teles for sure but I’ve never found them to be. 

Actually I did have one an FSR in satin Arizona sun by fender that was awesome, I sold it like a fool and the chap who has it point blank refuses to sell me it back.

If you want something different I'd recommend building a t-type yourself.

I have a P90 and a thinline cabronita style build..

Greg Koch Reverend? There's a model with P90s & a Bigsby... Might just be the best looking guitar I've ever seen. Dying to try one at some point!

I was going to say Jim Root Tele- it's a monster with active EMG's in it, but as you've said no humbuckers, I'd have to echo the suggestion of a Cabronita. They're great and look cool AF too.

Hardtail Tele body, rosewood neck and 'board, Creamery P90 in the neck, splitable Thornbucker in the bridge

I had one. Sadly, it was crap.

Eastman Juliet. It’s also slightly offset, slightly firebird, and tad LP special as well as tele. The p90 version is a joy to play and is tele plus some for me. Love it.

G&L ASAT Special uses their MFD pickups so it sounds like a Tele but fatter.

Alternatively you could create a 90s Telecaster Plus with a Lace Sensor Blue in the neck and a Dually humbucker in the bridge.
