I tell you what, Max is way quicker than Perez but he's incapable of this sort of elegant defensive driving.

Perez was awesome in that little fight with Hamilton. Loved the TV shot of Max catching up behind them. Enthralling stuff, I'm 50/50 about that first lap incident so just want a good race from here and the best driver to win.

That sequence of corners with Perez was great - and it was like a spotlight on how dirty Max is; there’s no way a wheel to wheel battle with Max would last that long without the other driver getting pushed off the track

Exactly. Surely we all want laps like that with Perez & Hamilton - reminders of Villeneuve and Arnoux. I wish Max could understand it.

I think it has ... Mercedes should have pitted Hamilton as he'd easily have caught Max had Max not pitted.

Feels like Merc making the same track position mistake as they did a few races back. With a pce advantage and 5s gap they should've been matching Verstappen with every single move

I wonder if Lewis' radio comments are his usual gamesmanship tactics? i.e. saying he's struggling to lull Red Bull into believing they can push, but it'll kill their tyres and Lewis will "suddenly" find his tyres are ok
