I used to spend a lot of cash on music from my part time job. When I actually started my PhD it was the first time I was being paid "full time" and I basically went out and bought lots of pairs of new jeans, shoes and shirts. Which is quite boring...

Now that I'm on the job hunt, I've promised myself a nice amp as my first splurge, but in reality I should be saving up with the end goal of buying a house
