no chad smith, no jimmy chamberlin, no mitch mitchell

    the list sucks balls.

I am not a big fan of slipknot but their drummer is mental too and no mention.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • So a man who Madonna calls the best drummer… as opposed to the man Frank Zappa calls the best drummer. Hmmm, let me think about that for a moment. Madonna. Or Zappa.

    Well, I'm flummoxed.

    Is there a sarcastic smiley?

    It's too difficult.
I can't even decide who the top 10 drummers to perform with Steely Dan are. (Make it 11 and I am sorted)

Vinnie Coliuta, Terry Bozo, Dennis Chambers, Tony Williams, Chad Waterman, Trilok Gurtu....

Pretty shit list really. Jazz drummers are generally so far ahead of rock and pop drummers there is no real competition.

Jazz drummers generally can't play rock. They don't have the testicular fortitude required.

Any drummer that Zappa used probably.

I don't fully get the adulation for Bonzo, I'm a Led Zep fan but he wasnt the most versatile was he? From the thud-wack-thud-thud-wack school really, wasnt exactly subtle, fitted the band perfectly though.

For me it's Portnoy and Donati. Shame Donati didn't do well in the dream theater auditions really.
