Ballad, by New Model Army. What a love song :(

Come Again by Damn Yankees. My favourite “super group “ but a cracker of a ballad building up to a tasty solo by Uncle Ted.

But still not as good as 2 out of 3 ain’t bad for a meatloaf ballad.
Not actually as good as any song on the original Bat Out Of Hell, even though it is a great song. The whole album is a work of pure genius.
Me and my mate agree Bat Out of Hell is music perfection. Everything from lyrics, composition, arrangements, melodies, harmonies … every song is superb. Steinman really was on another level.

Not sure if its a ballad or not, I suppose it could be. Its a poem by Yeats put to music by The Water Boys,

A Deuce , a Tele and a cup of tea.

I'll raise you this... I think it is a ballad, but I'm not quite sure. It is an amazing song, anyway.

Thats a killer track, thankyou for sharing, I love songs that roll like that, punching along like a frieght train. JJ Cale was great at making songs chug along but still punch through, even though he sang like he was so laid back he was literally upside down.

Don’t recall seeing “Pancho and Lefty” in the thread.  Really prefer Townes van Zandt’s rendition.

What a song this is. I was going to say $1000 Wedding by Gram Parsons but I think Beeswing pips it for me.

Not quite everything, it turned out to be a long winded process, but if you’ve got YouTube music and a desire to put your head down a toilet this’ll help.
Still not everything but a lot of doleful choices.

There are quite a few pubs called Beeswing (or The Beeswing Inn,etc). Apparently not named by Richard Thompson fans but after a famous racehorse.
