Sean Costello … yeah. that was tragically young and he was the real deal for me. Such great feel. Sigh.

Bowie hit me the hardest … and I’m pretty sure the world hasn’t recovered yet.

It’s over forty years ago, but I was massively moved by Ian Curtis’ death, and always wondered whether the band could have written an astonishing third studio LP…

    Bowie, obvs.

    Lennon, obvs.

    Mark Hollis.

Loads in the 70s / 80s but those three would still be putting out relevant and interesting music.

And Zappa. Can't believe I almost left him out!

The thing with Bowie was... Blackstar was so obviously a last album, but I was fascinated to find out what he'd do next.

Agreed, I wasn’t even a fan; but he was always there.  I liked him as a personality he seemed a really decent person.

    Peter Steele :(
I'm really annoyed that I didn't think of him when I was composing my list. I'd also add in Richie James Edwards. Not so much a musician in that instance, but I'd really love to know how the Manics would have progressed post-The Holy Bible with him still in their ranks.
