Hard to believe no-one has posted this one yet - it was the first one I thought of, but thought it was possibly not the best track on the album… but actually I think it is. I also think it's the greatest debut album ever, even beating Black Sabbath. (Although possibly with not such long-term cultural impact.)

Foxy Lady - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

But if Purple Haze had actually been on the album, it wouldn't be. (I know it was on the US edition.)

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

I would say Hunting High And Low and The Sun Always Shines On TV were better :).
I am a bigger fan on the latter definitely, but trying to stay on topic. Great debut album I think :-)

I'm not sure the OP meant the song necessarily had to be the best song on the album...?

The Manics - Slash 'n' Burn

Holy Bible was the best album but this is my favourite Manics' song.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

I nearly said that, but The Doors belong in another thread, the one for the best *last* track on a band's first album.

That's definitely not their first album....although it was the first Rush album I bought, and remains my favourite.
