Just sorted my "little" rig thanks to @johnnyurq

2015 will be sorting my main board, just bought an Xotic SL and will look to get that integrated properly and there's a possibility I may sell the Timeline...even contemplating going back to a G system as that is where I was most happy with my delay sounds and tones in general if I'm totally honest..
Oh yus indeedy @welshboyo and it is all organised for a Monday pickup and the details have been passed on via email.

Pedal wise for me a decent mental delay like the Vox Delaylab or TC Alter Ego X4 and maybe a boost/dirt pedal or two. Ooh a good mod box, oh bugger it never ends.

I've just taken delivery in the last couple of weeks what shall make up my board. Polytune mini, crybaby standard, AC Booster, MXR 78 distortion (though this might go back tomorrow as it is very thin sounding), hendrix fuzzface mini, TC Spark, Trex Tremster and an MXR Carbon copy.
@shaunm Try the Super Badass it's awesome sounding and has a bass control.

Good shout! I was thinking the humble sd-1 might be an option?

  • I've dumped a lot of pedals off the board and scrapped shit like Amplitube. Working with good plugins on the computer is a better overall sound than Amplitube and their like (S-Gear an honourable exception).

I need an SMMH back on the board as it's perfect for sending loops into the computer and screwing around with sounds. A Skreddy Lunar Module would be nice. Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl as well. Oh, and a Boss CE-2B and a Boss GT-3.

I've recently downsized...in the past i have 12-13 pedal boards, i'd buy a bunch of pedals and they would be on my board constantly and for each song i would use a different dirt/fuzz pedal with certain artists in mind. Even on clean settings it was never the clean sound of my amp as it went through a bunch of pedals, again, trying to channel artists or songs that i really liked and influenced me.

Now...i've focused on what sound do i want to make thats distinct to me only. I almost want my own signature sound rather than copying or trying to copy someone else. The other factor is I want this sound to be consistent and not change all the time. BTW...all this thinking only came about with my latest amp which has the sweetest tone of any amp i have heard or played.

So, by board now, consists of Wah, 1 Distortion pedal, 1 OD pedals, 1 Phaser, 1 delay, and 1 reverb...and a tuner

My clean tones are either just the amp, or with some kind of echo and or phase...my dirty tone is the distortion pedal only and if i want a boost i kick in the OD pedal.

For the future...i want to keep my board this simple regardless, and if anything is going to change, for example i want a different dirt tone, then i put a new dirt pedal on, and take the old one off.

    And you amp is? :)

  • Looking to only buy fuzz pedals in silly oversized enclosures.

  • Get my Ibanez flanger and Mooer Hustle drive fixed. Get my crybaby modded. maybe sell a couple of pedals now that a Source Audio EQ has arrived.  Sort of fancy trying a Boss SD-1 with my Marshall JCM800 everyone goes on about how great they are together so I'd like to at least try it once.

I also have a bit of wood that I could turn into a pedal board to hold a Tim and Tuner. Sometimes that's all I need but I still like the idea of having them mounted on the same bit of board. I could then use an old Puma football boot bag as a gig bag for it :)

  • I think I may try a different compressor, currently have an Effectrode on the board, not sure whether to keep it.

Other than that I'm done on the pedal front. Flightcase so I can have a little space to the side of my pedaltrain pro for my vol/wah or whammy should see me complete I think :-)

At the moment, just an MXR micro chorus, plus the time to rejig my board and sort out the spare room so I can have it plugged in (semi) permanently.

Then sell the stuff I don't use (one of the wahs, sho, les lius & schaller tremolo clones possibly even the SHOCK HORROR liquid sunshine!)

And possibly get a Whammy V or EHX Pitchfork, but probably the Whammy :D

There will soon be a short powerpoint to work out layouts. And I'm not even kidding...!

  • I am pretty happy with my board, I would though like to get hold of Pedaltrain though to replace my plank of wood...

Pedalwise the only thing I'm lusting over is an empress Superdelay to replace my TC repeater, I'd also like to add a Mojohand FX Dewdrop, but really I don't need either. I have managed to curb my insane drive pedal expenditure... for now.

  • For my main board:
    1. DB Instrument Amp 4E Dual Axis Expression Pedal
    2. 4 Way Patch Bay, probably from Bright Onion
    3. Dr Scientist Frazz Dazzler Fuzz - the mix control might be just what I need to put a fuzz into a crunchy amp
    4. Mojo Hand DMBL

    For my 'inspiration' board:
    1. Strymon Big Sky
