From an English point of view then very little to get excited about in this WC - looks like another tanking today

Well that was another torturous day watching England getting slaughtered by South Africa.
I just hope England don’t get a complete battering by them in the rugby semi final tonight .

Thinking back to my early days of test match cricket and I recall an India tour, to the UK, in the early mid 70's and first time I came across B Bedi - Easier name to remember as well compared to his colleagues - Chandrasekhar and Srinivas Venkataraghavan - Think he was the first bowler I'd seen bowl in a turban

They used to say that Bedi could bowl an over on the time it took Michael Holding to bowl a ball and get back to his mark.

Not really followed any cricket today so only just seen this - Hell of a statement for Afghanistan - At this rate they might even make the top 4 and a semi final place - Our next 3 games are Sri Lanka, India, Australia - Basically we are just about at zero tolerance now

Apparently the lack of 50 over cricket has been harming our international team.

Who would have thought that piling money into a format that nobody else plays at the expense of playing in a format for which there is a world cup at stake would be damaging to our prospects of winning that world cup?

It's like the ECB have never heard of cause and effect.

Does anyone fancy speculating on how England are going to perform against Sri Lanka today?
I will be watching at 9:30 with a double espresso as usual.
I just hope we win the toss and choose to bat first so we can get  it over  asap.
