Does anyone think we'll still be batting tomorrow night?

    Agree - No

see only Bairstow is listed to play in the IPL + Brooks who would have been on the tour - Otherwise no other tour player is in the IPL

Is there anyone better in county cricket?  It's not set up to develop test players at the moment.

Bringing in Brook for Bairstow will help a bit, but there is nobody else that I can think of as an obvious improvement.

Yes fantastic achievement - Within the poor showing in India such an achievement tends to be low key as such

Delighted to report I have been selected in the wider England Seniors Squad.

Absolutely thrilled. Just one cap and I'm a happy man.

    Morning all,

Just back from Gibraltar after having the huge honour of leading and skippering MCC on tour there.

A quite amazing tour, not a crossed word or any form of clique within a touring party of 19.
    Played 4 W2 L2.

T40- MCC won by 40 runs
    T20 #1 MCC won by 7 wickets
    T20 #2 MCC lost by 4 wickets
Test Match (declaration game) MCC Lost by 4 wickets

Some sensational youngsters over there including Louie Bruce, a fine bat who is applying for membership and was a thorn in our side in every match.

We also, with the gift of  Adam Collins, better known as a cricket commentator and podcaster, and Rex Purnell, a former Gib Cricket player, raised a couple of grand for the juniors with a gala evening that we arranged.

The venue was absolutely magnificent, although Sunday had a gale blowing across us which actually caused us to dispense with bails!

Performance highlights included an excellent 88 from the legend Jonathan Wileman, a 4 fer by Steve Atherton, a brilliant ton in the first T20 by Ed Beard, and a consistent couple of fifties by James Doherty and a smashed 50 by the skip on Sunday.

We have unearthed a high quality left arm quick in Jonty Walliker who is playing for Devon in MCCA currently.

A highly successful tour that left both a financial and cricket legacy.

    Some pics attached for all.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ @Gassage - Is that an astro turf pitch - Never visited Gibraltar - I almost envisaged a small pitch on a rock and hit the ball to far and its in the sea - Looks like you had a swell time

It's a world class 4G used for international 7s rugby and much more.

Amazing surface. Pitch is a standard astro laid into outfield.

First training session of the season this evening and first injury sustained, lol (a bruise and blood blister on my index finger).

That’s Alderney.  Played a tour match there once which rained for much of it.  Got back to the airport and they wouldn’t fly back to Guernsey, so we all had to shack up with the various (some famous) inhabitants of Alderney, including a lot of beer

For those interested, Adam Collins who toured with us, better known as a cricket commentator/pundit, has given the Club a lovely plug on his podcast.
