@Cabicular Holy shit you have just sold this to me. I've been meaning to get the Fryette to attenuate down my Shiva and up my Friedman Pink Taco. It never occurred to me that you can use is as a Power amp for the Helix! Sold and Sold.

I think you could do that by cascading two tremolo blocks, one 3-4 times as fast as the other. I have a patch with two tremolos, one double the speed of the other, for wub-WUB-wub-WUB and the clip sounds like that but with a different rhythm.

I'll have a play and see if I can do similar.

Can you use exp pedal to control tremolo rate? If so then I could either do it manually or use my ehx 8 step...

Yes, you can. You can assign pretty much any parameter to the expression pedal(s), or to MIDI CCs.

I really want one of these now.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

@Cabicular I think you've mentioned it previously but I can't find it using my phone, what board have you got it on? Looks a good fit for the helix plus extras. Cheers

    Bog standard pedaltrain 2
A novo 32 also works fine
I also like it because it angles the footswitches slightly making it easier to get to the back row
    On the downside
    It was a feckin ton!
Ah well ... Keeps the guns pumped up for the show ;)

    In a perfect world.

I can get samples of stuff to take round dealers but if I want anything, naturally I have to pay for it. I want a lot of stuff too!

    Yup
I just remove the front two feet and then put a couple of long strips of Velcro (being careful not to cover the air vents) and use the remaining feet in the slots of the PT to help support the weight on the board (I.e. To stop it it slipping down) with that board you might get lucky and not have to take off any of the feet
I can pretty much tip the pedaltrain on its front edge to get underneath the board and it stays put so enough area of Velcro and it's solid
Just watch the strength of the handles...

So, apparently the backpack isn't released until at least July. Which really could mean anytime. However they are expecting the next batch of Helix at the start of June...

Which is now making me reconsider my "all in" leap of faith. Also @cabicular keeps posting awesome pictures of his rig which isn't helping at all.

So should I just wait for the backpack, which to be fair looks like it will be quality. Rely on the Helix for all of my pedal needs, including drive pedals (although I do have a Cornford MK50ii which doesn't really need them).

Or do I Pedaltrian 2 it. Which means it will be cased from the get go, I already have a choice of power supply and I can put on my favourite wah, my SP compressor and a quartert of drive pedals:- BB Preamp, Keeley Red Dirt, Hermida Zendrive and Nobels ODR-1 and know for absolute certain I won't ever feel I've short changed my options.

The PT2 is reasonably sized, the new soft cases seem better made than the old ones... But am I just over complicating something that was meant to be making my life easier?

Ps. I've heard the demos and heard everyone gush over the vibe... But is it really going to be able to replace my Vibronaut? Vibes and Wahs and Phasers have always been the effects where digital has left me a bit meeeh

I'd say don't second-guess yourself. Wait until the Helix arrives, try it out against the pedals you love and work out your rig based on the results. :)
