that is of course true, which is why I didn't mention things like the people I've met at King Crimson album launch parties, being in the studio [and therefore on the same album] with Fripp, Wetton, Hammill etc etc etc.. so that stuff don't count..

but... getting some sort of recognition from one of your heroes does appeal to Clarky the fan-boy.. just like you guys, I have my heroes too..

here's another thing.. one of the DC Band albums was recorded in Mark Lusardi's studio.. he has a rather pretty sister called Linda..

that reminds me...  a few years back.. sat in the bizniz lounge at Heathrow on my way to Dublin, I found myself sat on the same table as George Best [and his other half].. we said hi, introduced ourselves / shook hands etc and spent the next hour putting the world to rights over a few beers.. we didn't talk footie at all.. I thought he was really quite a nice guy.. chilled out and quite chatty... his flight to Belfast was called, so we shook and said goodbye etc.. and he went on his way..  after he'd gone, some guy rushed over to me and said "do you know who you've just been talking to??"

I replied "yeah he said his name was George"

and the guy flounced off.. lmao
