I wonder how many of Amazon's BF deals are ending up in the hands of a forum member.

Next year, I'm going to write to Mr G, and tell him to cut out the middle man.  Just join the forum, start a thread, and we'll take all his old stock direct.  Who needs Amazon?

    Providing the price is right.

I tried the "missing key" claim on my CM.

Long chat - look here, look there, check in the packaging box (etc) - no keys anywhere.  Then I mentioned that it came in a gigbag rather than a case, so now I have the missing case refund as well as the missing keys refund.

Tomorrow, I'll call re the dodgy high-E G-force tuner, and I reckon they'll be sending me a LPJ in compo.

As long as its a one piece body ... if not, I'll be after the "my guitar body arrived in 3 pieces" refund.

The N-225 looks pretty good in natural.

I've already spent way too much having got the junior and the doublecut.
Not bad for under £620 though.

Sorry @Cabicular, but it seems I've used up this year's 'Wow' allowance over the last few days, so I've given a couple of  'Wisdoms' in lieu :)

Based on the value of these refunds, are Amazon an official dealer or is all this stock effectively grey import?

I wish the volume layout was consistent. The artist (which I think the 2015 electronics are based on) has a single volume and two centre detected tones
Where as the 2015 s have two volumes and a master tone
Gets confusing when I switch between them

    I wasn't at all pushy
I sent them an email saying it had a chip on the headstock and I would send them a couple of pictures so they could assess it and then they replied saying they would credit 20% off the price and gave me a feedback form to fill in.
The guitar was damaged to be fair but it's the fact that I've offered to send them pictures both times and they have just refunded me straight off the bat
I'm not a dishonest person but that system seems open to abuse

I feel a bit dirty, but decided to go on webchat to discuss the missing manual and the G-forces habit of taking longer to tune the high E. I didn't exaggerate at all. I had been playing it more and the high e was starting to annoy me. I am also not liking that the g-force always finds something to do. Just once I would like to strum it and it not do anything at all (honeymoon with the tuners may be over - new strings will probably do it in fairness, but I thought it was worth discussing).

At first they offered a full refund and return so I could re-purchase. I liked that answer, but I said no and asked if they could just send me a manual to make sure I was using it right.

£40 refund to pay for some normal tuners.

I would feel guilty if they paid taxes.

Even Amazon must be giving a "have those bloody 2015 Gibsons returned at your peril" dictate.

I have to say though, I can spot a flaw in most things, but chasing discounts on bargain basement stuff makes me feel a bit quesey.

i know - although i think given the nature of the G-force tuning system a missing manual is actually quite important.  and I did give them the option of sendign me a manual.  If the guy had a bit more about him he could have just sent me a link to shut me up

The system isn't intuitive (once you get beyond basic tuning duties) and relies on you knowing a combination of key presses and flashing lights to know where you are.   If i had this guitar at a gig I would need a suitable reference guide in the case to be able to use its better features.  My biggest gripe with the system is learning its functions is like trying to remember cheat codes on a playstation.   All of which would be solved if Gibson end up building a back lit display into the system - it only needs to show a letter or two to show you were you are.
