That was rather like England Rugby losing to the Isle of Skye.

Not really .. Iceland have beaten Holland twice and Italy ... they're not rubbish.

The Premier League is part of the reason England are out. Average players are paid extravagant wage by a cash rich organisation. What percentage English players in the PL? Roy is gone but who are the coaches, coaching set plays, basic defending, goalkeeping etc. The media does not help either... And the expectation of so many fans who believe what they read on newspapers or what is said on MOTD.

Not understanding this Hart love. He's a decent keeper but no better than that.

Well the problem for England is that the best strike force in the competition have thus far scored fewer goals than defensively minded Iceland ;)

England *should* win comfortably. But better teams than England have failed to beat worse teams than Iceland so whilst I expect England to win to nil I also wouldn't be all that surprised if we see guys dressed up like Crusading Knights and WW2 era RAF pilots in tears on tonight's TV.

    Favourite tweet thus far.

"England still allowing plenty of free movement for foreigners. Mainly in the penalty box"

Testament to the fact that you can't just pick a bunch of good players and hope that they will self-organise on the pitch. Hodgson's record truly speaks for itself.

Luckily I don't like football. And we've got Aussies in charge of the rugby and the cricket.

Anyone got a video of Sam Matterface asking Patrice Evra how he felt about playing England in the quarters?  :))

    You can't beat the classics.

Chirs Waddle's on the radio talking about why we're no good at tournaments.

He's been doing this for at least the last four.

pretty decent. I've made £95 from £20 bet on 4.50 odds for Iceland to qualify as well as another £96 for Iceland to win on 8.00 odds.

I've had a few £1 bets for 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 all for ENG but those I've made as soon as they've qualified from the group. Won bets I've placed after reading the jolly comments about ''easy win'' and ''4-0''. Nice one!

I'm assuming you're following @lloyd 's fantastic predicting abilities then.

My predictions and football knowledge are almost as embarrassing as the England team's performance last night....almost.

    Yeah, right.

The comment at half time of "Should Roy drop Hart for the QF?" pretty much sums up why many of the Celtic countries will be laughing at this result.

I wanted England to win to be fair but when they don't I find it funny, it's great when an underdog does something like this too.

Might have been better if he hadn't skied his chance in the penalty shoot out.

Fair play to Iceland, they played really well.

After a brilliant start with a pen as the game wore on we got progressively more and more nervous until eventually nobody could even make a simple pass. Kane's free kicks were just laughable

Add to that the customary Hart clanger and we were doomed.

Is that what they were .. I wondered. Why would you get your striker to take free kicks?

Roy should get a permenant seat on the long running BBC Radio show I'm sorry I haven't a clue ...
