I'd actually agree with him here. Musically, the Disturbed version fits the tone of the lyrics much better than the original (which always sounded glib and twee to me).

Much as he's not my fave singer, it's a bloody spine tingling vocal performance.

Depends if you mean the original or the Temptations version. I'm not sure I've ever heard the original original, but the Temptations one is one of the greatest records ever made and Was Not Was Not Even Close.
