Covers that are better than the original (sacrilege).

The first single I ever bought was Joan Jett -  'I love rock and roll' and have always known it was a cover. I just looked up the original for the purposes of this thread and it is identical (I'll give the edge to Joan for sentimental reasons).



I also prefer Bob Marley's original of 'I shot the sheriff' to the Eric Clapton cover but do remember seeing an interview with Marley where he quite angrily defended his own version over Clapton's, saying that the hard work came in creating it and that it was easier for Clapton to make it better.
