Not sure .. it's robbed him of acres of amusing cartoons and print in Private Eye and gags on HIGNFY

I wouldn't think that Gove would stand a chance in Hell though would he?

I'm no expert on politics but I'd have thought that Theresa May would be a more likely leader.

So the whole country has been put through the ringer so that several upper class buffoons can play power games. Wonderful.

he's bottled it as he's a spineless opportunistic buffoon..

Knows that the next pm is going to have a) trigger article 50, b) try and work through the massive clusterfuck that will ensue..  Plus there is quite a lot of anger at boris at the moment within the Tory party - pig shagger and co were alleged to be running an anti boris campaign for pm...

So I think he's biding his time to being the tory leader after the next one methinks..

This. He wasn't a stalking horse, too late to entry for that, he was used to take out the Boris vote.
Can't wait to see him as Chancellor after the sterling job he did in education.

That was always the case. This was never about anything other than Tory party manoeuvring.

Simple: because he didn't think he'd win.

Presuming Corbyn won't be around for much longer, and with a new leader coming to the Tories will it be strange to see leaders of two large political parties who weren't voted in by the electorate.

that's pretty much what I thought..
also, I was thinking that he may not want to win either right now..
cos dragging the UK out of the EU will be mucky.. would he want something like that, especially if it didn't go well, on his CV

^ This. MPs showing their true colours as self-servers who have no interest in serving their country.

Not enough support. Three of his sponsors deserted him this morning. He had no choice.

The electorate don't vote for party leaders - MPs and party members only.
