The ghostwriter who wrote his book, art of the deal had a tell all about him recently and it's quite scary stuff. He comes across as a textbook narcissist - all spectacle, only alive when he has eyes on him, no capacity for self reflection.

 The thing about narcissists is that they are immensely charismatic, they get away with it precisely because they're so audacious that people are fascinated with them, and people naturally tend to give them credit and (incorrectly) assume it's all an act and they're not REALLY like that underneath . And that's exactly what's happening with him on a national level.

 For that reason whenever someone talks about trump and assumes he has a real endgame, or a master plan I'm inclined to disagree. with narcissists it's all surface. On the one hand that's good if you're worried he's a secret Hitler, on the other it's bad if you take anything he says as anything more than waffle.

By all accounts (except those plagiarised from Mrs Obama) Trump is:

• an awful person
• a liar
• a cheat
• a terrible businessman (see how many times he's extracted borrowed cash from his companies and let them collapse. See also how his net worth hasn't even matched the S&P500 since 1988 [SOURCE], which is hilarious)
• incapable of diplomacy and
• from the looks of it incapable of basic empathy and even politeness...

And despite all that it's a genuine possibility that he could win. Last time round Romney barely got a look in against Obama, yet he'd probably be an easy choice against either of these two. Can anyone say another round of Obama wouldn't be miles better?

Clinton is bloody awful, but the thought of Trump and Putin around a table is terrifying.

Apparently if you take out suicide it drops to something like 14,000 a year... Which is fine to many Americans... You ask me, that's still a lot.

I'm not completely certain but I would guess that's still much higher than the number killed by terrorists in over 200 years.

And that's per year... But gun supporters seem to trot out such a fact to rubbish the idea that guns are the problem. 

If a five figure number of people commit suicide with guns, surely reduced guns might make it less likely suicides would succeed... And 14000 people might not get shot... 

Also I seem to recall that those are only deaths, no injuries or just crimes are counted in such figures. 

Of course guns are very restricted here but we still have a lot more gun crime than we should so maybe we're not in a place to criticise

He claimed early in his nomination campaign that he hadn't taken a penny and was funding himself... Then it turns out out he has taken donations (through the donations button on his website... Despite saying he wasn't asking...)... And his self funding is a loan he gets to claim back later.

Yep. He's been outperformed by a large number of hedge funds and indexes. 

He's not bad at real estate, where he puts in money and his name and someone else does all the work (and no doubt takes ALL the risk of failure through the development contracts)

But everywhere else he's complete crap. For someone claiming to be a successful businessman and investor his performance is pathetic.

Trump will win - too many stupid people for him not to... he appeals to stupid people as he speaks for them. And is one of them.

He will then lead the country into a war that will cost millions of lives and trillions of dollars. It will make Vietnam look like the scuffles outside a Manchester nighclub on a Saturday night. Trump will be victorious... because Trump Military will supply all the weaponry. To both sides.

He will bankrupt the world bank and yet still remain popular with the electorate for "taking America back". Back in time.


He is the scariest thing to happen in worldwide politics since the invention of the H Bomb, IMHO. He's quite mad...

You need to read about Harry Truman, the only President to use nuclear weapons, and whose only business experience was running a haberdashery and running the state of Missouri for his mentor Pendergast, as corrupt as they come.  Trump is not the scariest President by a long way.
