You use a modeller into two small portable angled monitors, and then point them upwards at your guitar, and THEN wonder why you're getting shit-tons of feedback.

When skim reading other forums I always roll my eyes at statements that read like:

- Guitar is a midrange instrument.  I always have my mids on at least 8 so I can cut through the mix.  That way I can still cut through 2 more if the singer is louder than me.

- Compression is bad because dynamics is good

- EMGs sound the exact same in all instruments (yet I've only tried them in a Schecter with dirty strings in a guitar shop, once).  They also have no soul, because batteries drain soul.

- I run my fuzz pedals on batteries because it gives more soul

- Vintage 30s have too much treble

- 4x12s aren't necessary, because I can't lift them.

- Telecasters are the most versatile instruments ever.  And the control arrangement makes so much sense and in no way could be improved by spacing things out better.

The more expensive the more judgement, with extra bonus points if it's a Tele.

To my shame I also judge people for this when i should know better, I have alot of expensive gear which i enjoy owning and playing at uni i played 4 hours per night and was a reasonable player now i work full time, have a social life and am working hard to lose weight and am studying for work related courses i am not half the player i used to be.
I also suffer from severe anxiety which means that I can nail those gary moore solos at home but put me up on a stage and suddenly I cant remember what key anything is in or how to play anything but about 3 licks.
Fair enough if you judge a professional gigging musician for there kit but think twice before you judge a stranger at a jam night for what they play.

a) you are oblivious to your guitar being horribly out of tune

and/or

b) you tune up loudly between every song and never get it quite right.

I also judge you if you use a)......... b).......... to make points........
