I very nearly bought back a PRS Standard 22, and should have done as it was a good one and the price was a couple of hundred quid less than what I sold it to the fella for. But I was 'between jobs' at the time and I don't think the missus would have appreciated GAS expenditure going out the door.
It wasn't the one I mentioned on the previous page was it?  Satin cherry finish, stoptail and birds?
No it was a '95 from memory, gloss finish and moons with the fattest wide-fat neck I've ever played. Stop reminding me!

    Never happened to me.

I sold stuff because I didn't want it any more.

  • Looks like we need to start a "reunite me with my xyz" thread so those of you who have sold things you want back might be able to track them down.
All the right notes, not always in the right order!

    Yup.

My Status fretless. I sold it. Buyer loved it but wanted a 5 string so he sold it.

I tracked it down and bought it for less than I sold it for.

Amusingly now that I have it I'm not playing it anymore as I need 5 strings.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

I once got carried away with a selling binge and got rid of an Edwards LP which I now wish I'd kept.

A couple of years later I saw it on eBay, it had found its way to Spain and was in a different case.  I was tempted to buy it back, but they wanted more than I'd sold it for so on principle I didn't bother.

I also saw my old Hamer Vector on eBay but something put me off buying it back, I can't remember what it was.

  • Bought back a Gibson Nighthawk Special I sold to buy an engagement ring.

Suffice to to say I have a modest collection of engagement rings.

Thinking about it, I have more engagement rings than electric guitars  :/

Can't you just keep one and re-use it?

Can you sell the rings and buy a guitar? Maybe a swap at Cash Converters (or other pawn shop)?

I've just bought my 2nd TC Spark Booster, not the exact one though. Not sure why I sold the first one really. It sounds so much better boosting my slightly dirty amp than if I just turn up the gain on the amp to achieve a similar level of saturation. Not sure why, must be the tone knobs which let me roll off some high end. The Laney with its gain up sounds a bit "ratty" for lack of a better description.

2 actually,  a Condor Corp jap strat copy with built-in fuzz, phase and boost,  was fantastic for a gimmick guitar,  emailed the buyer back only to find it now lives in Utah.... bugger (hr promised me first refusal if he decided to sell too!)
and an early Korean Westone sp5112 I sold to a good mate(must have sold him 20+ westones over the years) for £80, damn swine won't part with it for love nor money,  it's still in my town so all is not lost!

  • Things I've sold and subsequently bought again:
Ibanez FL9 (actually, I bought the FLL Flanger, but it's the same circuit in a different box)
    Ibanez Tubescreamer
    MXR Phase 100
    Pearl DS06 Distortion
    Roland D-50.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

If I could buy back my old Epiphone lp and the Bare Knuckle Mules I had in it I would.

One I could have bought back but didn't was a MIJ Jazzmaster I'd had for 20 years ('91 or '92, I forget) recorded with, played gord knows how many gigs and managed to keep even at some really low points. I stupidly sold it on MR cheap to get a car fixed, and a year later the chap offered it me back at twice the price, knowing how much I'd like it. I didn't have the pennies so then it went up in the classies at that price and flounced when nobody bought it, most odd.
