You sods.
@impmann - Greenie looks amazing.
(1) 1985 MIJ Squier 'Standard' Tele, blond
Bought nearly-new on my birthday in 1987, it's seen some minor mods, a fret dress (thanks @IvisonGuitars) and a lot of gigs.
(2) Palir Titan, Shoreline Gold
I went to World Guitars to try out LP Juniors but I couldn't put this one down. The both-pickups setting alone is worth the considerable price tag.
(3) MIM FSR Tele Deluxe with Creamery WRHBs, CAR
I indulged a whim to upgrade one of these (including the pots, changed to 500k) and it really paid off.
As for stripping the finish, that was done (by @juansolo) before I bought the guitar. He said it removed a whole load of weight, but didn't mention whether or not it affected the sound. I think @Alnico also stripped and refinished a Baja at some point.

Half the time when I've looked closely the saddles (and strings) are all squint.
Do people find they move while playing?
Bear in mind, some folks fit staggered saddles to assist with intonation and some of these appear to be at jaunty angles.
fks sake, that's blown me away.
@gassage - that guitar is a beauty mate.
It's like the, very lovely looking, dark burst at the start of the thread (first one I can see straight on). The gap between the a and d strings looks larger than the rest to my eyes. They all look slightly different IMO.
Happens with strats too to a smaller degree. Often I've squeezed the saddles together on a strat and there's been movement. Usually the high e string has moved away from the rest.
Oh my.

I thought/think, sometimes still do, think that Telecaster are a stupid design. It's uncomfortable with the hard right angle edges, it's not aesthetically pleasing but I bought one anyway just to see if I like it.
I end up keeping it, still have it. It actually sounds great, weights perfect in the middle of the 7lb range, really nice low action, nitro finish, RW board and all the aged hardware and Porter Pickups, a boutique build from a boutique builder from the States. Every now and again I thought about trading it in for a Fender but I am thinking...what's the point, it can't be better than this, not for the money anyway, especially these days as this is an Ash body underneath. Despite not liking the silly OTT relic job on the corners.
