Agreed. This sort of setup might not be the most flexible if you want to be able to make it up as you go along, or if you're working up arrangements with a band, but once you've got your sounds together they're brilliant.

Sure. When I'm just playing at home or at "mucking about and see what happens" practice sessions, I leave the ES-5 in manual mode (meaning I've got 5 loops I can turn on/off) and play with the pedals until I get something I like - which I then save on the individual pedals and program the preset and MIDI commands into the ES-5 later. I'm only doing my own stuff, so I don't have target tones from famous songs to try and recreate. Steal, though, that's another matter... ;-)

Thanks. It's taken me a year and lot of false starts and expense to get here, but I'm hopeful... :-)

Sorry, @DesVegas - didn't see this. Yes, with the rics and Jag I always have it on. Not the case with the JM, which i'm starting to prefer without compression, strangely enough.

It seems incredibly meagre compared to most on here.
