Did they even send him any photos before hand?

Last I checked that website had no photos of the car.  The gap in the bonnet should be easily spotted.

similarly cavalier with the repair itself.
You mean they have stuck random bits of an 80’s hatchback in it?!

In all honesty I'd walk away.

If it's several panels it's probably been in a hedge sideways or something similar, obviously not put through insurers so won't appear on hpi check. You've no way of knowing what the damage was like at the time or how good the repair was.

It's as easy to miss that kind of thing as it is to frame photos such that damage like that isn't really discernible. It's pretty common for the dealer to bank on an increased likelihood of purchase when someone's travelled to see it in person.

If its bonnet and rear, middle of 3 car accident.

Surprise it isn't a Cat D/N, being such a low-value car it doesn't take much for it to be uneconomical for repair if it has so many panel damage.

What about underneath? Any obvious repair welds? I know fuck all about cars, but I do know different colour body panels is a flashing red light.

Personally, I wouldn't leave without my deposit back ( cash or back on the card) . Then go home.

Good luck mate. Gutted for you.

There's also evidence of overspray on the little plastic bits on the roof and the bonnet doesn't line up perfectly.  I think I'm going to leave it.  I'm fucking livid.
Get your deposit returned and walk away...

I'm very very surprised a main dealer would allow this as a Hyundai Approved Used - are you sure they are selling this under the used scheme - if they are then I immediately question the integrity of the dealer and secondly the Used Approved Programme Hyundai operate as a whole...

Genuinely aggrieved for you Emp. Presumably you have to buy 6 more train tickets now as well. Bloody hell.

Echoing the above. Walk away, get deposit and travel back, and I’d ask for an amount towards wasted time too tbh.

But on the plus side this thread has a chance of hitting 100 pages...!

    (Genuinely sorry, emp!)

I think some of us were expecting you to not buy the car, but for all the wrong reasons.

Get your money back and walk away, for all the right reasons.

    What a pisser.
