Probably on another thread but have the new Epis flown under the radar ?
When they came out there was a lot of comment about the "stripey" mahogany they've used.  Now that I've seen more of them, it turns out to be a stripey veneer and the bevelled bits look almost a different colour.  I don't think I could live with that.

Those look completely bizarre! What a shame - there’s nothing wrong with plain looking wood, especially on an SG

I agree. That striped look is not my thing at all.

The worn look Epi SGs don’t look so bad

Right. I’m going to hold off and wait for a p90 SG classic to pop up or wait to see if it’s something Gibson will release next year.
Could get the Epi worn but I know it would only give me GAS for the real thing.
As far as I know, the necks (and the guitar in general) of the Classic and the Standard are the same. So its better not to buy online :-)

@Emiel I had a good play of my nephew’s faded the last few days and I could get used to the neck profile. It feels different for sure but manageable so no excuses now :)

Green lights then for the SG Classic! It's a great guitar, but please please swap out those stock 300K volume pots for 500K ones! :-)

@Emiel trying to find one looks like it could be a problem, well something with a regular price (not vintage).
Maybe the next round of Gibson release will include this or the standard with p90s.
The Epi worn is tempting me but I’ll hold out and see.
