Wouldn’t the nut be the wrong way round if it was still set up for a lefty
The seller asked the music store technician/luthier to swap the nut around so that it could be played by Paul Davids and perhaps other well known players.  It was mentioned in the video at the 9:36 mark.

Who in their right mind cuts the original nut out of jimi hendrix’s alleged historic one of kind guitar so some bloke off the Internet can play it, might as well refinish it and put some Lace Sensors in too

I’m not a massive fan of PD after signing up to his online course and (surprisingly) finding it to be pretty poor. His regular YouTube videos are better.

But as a Hendrix fan this was a very cool video.

Agree with others comments on playwear. You get the impression someone has been playing it right handed for a while. That would certainly corroborate the theory that it would be crazy to remove the original nut just so a YouTube guitar teacher could have a shot…the nut was probably changed years ago.

I didn’t quite believe it had been sat for 50 years in an office unplayed

I think spoiling other's enjoyment of guitar based videos goes all the way back to TheFB manifesto.

If I recall correctly, there was an article about this guitar in Guitarist magazine, possibly early 1990s when it was in the ownership of Monika Dannemann. Plenty of close up pictures, and the guitar was as it was last played by Hendrix, same strings. I understood it had Since been in the custody of Uli Jon Roth, Dannemann’s former husband.
How such a well documented instrument ended up in Denmark St I would expect would be a matter of public record. Quite embarrassing for all concerned and unprecedented for Denmark St if it is a fake.

I wouldn't say unprecedented. There have been many a scandal involving that street.

It was strung left handed in January 2017. Sorry for my grainy pictures.

It must be real. According to the video the  energy it exuded was so powerful one shop owner had to put it down and stop playing.

I wish people would stop slagging Justin Harrison, I can vouch that that guitar was Jimi's. How do I know? Because I saw it it when I visited Justin to buy the Turin Shroud. So back off.
