Might prefer to keep Skipp (homegrown quota) and promote from within.  Also, Brentford supposedly offered £40m for Gray, can’t see Spurs matching that as well as £60m on Eze plus a decent CF.

OTOH, Gray got a lot of real experience last year, which isn’t matched by our U21s.

Leeds turned down the 40m Brentford deal - supposedly as Spurs wanted to hi-jack it

I played golf this evening and we've Eng game on on portable device so we could listen to it. Unbelievable really how England managed to get a win out of this one. 
Reading this thread as it happened was hilarious... pretty much like commentary during the game. From "what are they doing?" To "it's gareth after all". I think this team will somehow end up in semis or final again and result will yet again cast a shadow over the performance and how it was achieved. Maybe rightly so. Maybe not...

Based on todays games it’s hard to see England going all the way, but in their defence, as the old saying goes, play until the final whistle, which they did, got their bit of luck and an equaliser, then a winner.
They could get the bit of luck against the Swiss as well. I remember Italy in the past boring their way into finals. As an Irish bloke I’d take that !

It will be a comfortable win against the Swiss and our best performance of the tournament, starting to peak at exactly the right time.

Tonight's games a little bit more difficult to predict, but... 

Belgium 2 France 1

We might see Belgium step up a gear against a French side who don't seem settled to me. Concentration the key for both sides.

Portugal 1 Slovenia 0

Ronaldo obviously on the decline but I think he will get on the scoresheet here. It might come late in the game when I think Slovenia will run out of gas.
