I'd like to add a few more I've heard over the last few days.

Safety Dance by Men Without Hats
    Mr Blue Sky by ELO
    Logical Song by Supertramp

    Smug cheesy nonsense
I'm scared and I'm waiting for life

  • .....The Hamster Dance.....

I'd just thought of this but I see you beat me to it. I think the author's preferred speling was 'hampster', which is also annoying.
I'll get a round to buying a 'real' guitar one day.

    Anything recorded after 1979.

There. Fixed. Simple, effective, very time-efficient.

I'd swap "before" for "after", and 1999 for 1979.

Also every Christmas song except Medicine and Nerf Herder. And anything on Radio 1 or 2.

Ooh, I like all those... I think Mr Blue Sky in particular is rather a brilliantly constructed piece of work..

But maybe it's a nostalgia thing.  Out of the Blue was one of the first half-dozen albums I ever bought, my brother had Breakfast in America... and I think he had the single of Safety Dance as well.

I quite like ELO to be fair, but that one, like Queen's Don't Stop Me Now can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned.

It even tried to ruin the otherwise great Magic Roundabout film for me as well

That's reminded me of another painful song I detest that features prominently in an otherwise good animated kids film.

Dance The Night Away by the Mavericks. Unfortunately, we play it in our band. It's only in the set because the crowds seem to love it. I hate playing it - it is just 2 chords all the way through and seems to go on for ever.

Actually, make that 2009. Old music is generally boring and rubbish.
