Good Times, Bad Times on Led Zeppelin 1.
Running With The Devil - Van Halen
Chuck E's In Love - Rickie Lee Jones

The Corrs got a lot of ribbing for being a bit bland, but the opening song 'Forgiven Not Forgotten' on their debut album of the same next is an absolute corker. Amazing production with some great guitar work, a real powerhouse of a track.

    Gloria : Patti Smith.
I came on to put something else, but now you mention Gloria, what a stunner! Patti Smith doesn’t get 10% of the recognition she deserves.

21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson.  Incredible musicianship from all, but Greg Lake's bass playing a stand out for me

This. Not just music, even - an entire subculture.

Greatest opening track from any band ever.

The original song "Gloria" was written back in the '60's by Van Morrison, and was the B side of a Them single. The U2 song is a different song though it does reference Van Morrison's song. Ditto, Patti Smith's is a mix of Van Morrison and one of her own poems. The Doors also recorded it.
