Looks like they might be targeting an audience after a "mini kemper stage" type of pedal?

Looks like it's £399 at Andertons (https://www.andertons.co.uk/ik-multimedia-amplitube-tonex-machine-modelling-pedal) so I'd expect it to sell well.

£399 is a good price if it sounds good - the demos so far have been pretty decent! I'm tempted.

Includes Tonex MAX (150 euro) and it's an interface?? Really seems like a no-brainer. They've knocked it out the park here

Well, the proof is in the pudding, as they say. We'll have to wait to play and listen in person and compare it to other stuff that is already available.

I remember the hype when their first pedals (reverb/delay/mod) in this format were launched but it looks like shops can't give them things away now.

it's pretty cool - I'd have expected someone else to have cracked this by now - but being able to run a capture/profile on hardware as well as in DAW/plugin seems like an important first?!!

I’ve ordered one from Andertons. The Studio Rats demo tipped me over the edge.

Just download the free version of the ToneX plugin and give it a go, it’s the same thing,

Already did that when it first launched. It seemed ok but I preferred my Kemper.

It is possible they have better captures available now.

Its a big thing that they are the first to have the profiles runnable in software and hardware but success is going to be really dependent on whether they can get the profile ecosystem behind them that kemper has. The price of this is really good but with no loop it seems like it would be a bit of a pain to integrate into a rig that was already using a modeller for FX, even small ones like the smaller helix models. Also no XLR out is a bit of a ballache too. Wonder if they will release a bigger version down the line with FX included or better integration features.

Just thinking it would be great in the loop of an HX Stomp or HXFX though. Although you're potentially stacking up ad/da latencies a bit, and I also wonder if the captures vs models are a big enough difference or improvement to warrant an extra pedal, over having it all in one unit.

I don't think it really needs a loop.

pedals (e.g. overdrive) --> tonex (including cab sim) --> time/mod pedals --> amplification (pa/frfr/headphones)

or as someone just said, put it in the loop of a multifx box and route it at will. 

A loop is to put time/mod effects after preamp but before power amplification. There isn't any power amplification in this afaik.

Also why the blackstar amped 1 needs a loop.
