Longer view here - it was his own running wide, clumsy rejoining and total lack of awareness (as usual) that kicked off the whole thing.

There's playback of the crash on Twitter. Gasly gets sandwiched by George and Zhou, George squeezes in and clips Gasly then spins in to Zhou, flipping him over.

Also reports on twitter of  protestors with an apparent death-wish storming the track on lap 1 as well. Tv not showing that for obvious reasons.

Yeah, considering he wasn’t in the gravel it seems a shame if they don’t let him at least do a pit lane start.
