As for Sainz/Alpine it's not impossible but remembering he was there a few years ago and has since had much more success, I doubt he'd be keen with the current leadership, unless they can demonstrate that it's just car is WAY overweight and they have a clear plan. But even then I understand that puts them level with Williams but without Vowles at the helm putting things in place for 2026.
To be honest my guess is every team outside the top 3/4 is already working on the 25 car so they can put 100% of their in-2025 development towards the 2026 car. And I would assume anyone credible with Sainz in mind has signed an NDA with him and shown him EVERYTHING they're doing.
I don't think so myself (for the reasons you say) but it got me pondering
In a way, it should be similar to the 1991 season, where McLaren’s technical advantage was gone mid season as the Williams Renault really hit its stride, but Senna had built up enough of a buffer early on that he comfortably took his third world championship.

Marko explained:
"The shareholders have made it known that it is a junior team and we have to act accordingly. The goal was that he [Ricciardo] would be considered for Red Bull with exceptional performances. That seat now belongs to Perez, so that plan is no longer valid.
"We will have to put a young driver in there soon. That would be Liam Lawson."

Stroll confirmed to stay at AM (where else?!)
And Austria has put gravel strips on the outside of the corners. I hope this really works as it's such an obvious thing to try
Edge of white line to gravel trap is 1.5m which ensures that you can't go over track limits without being in the gravel trap. Excellent solution as all F3, F2, and F1 cars are >1.5m wide

Should be a good race overall, especially with the new gravelly bits

Stroll - I guess he continues for as long as he wants to be in F1. And to be absolutely fair to him, he’s respectably close to his teammate in qualifying - certainly better than Magnussen, Perez, Zhou and Sargeant are doing against theirs.
I suppose it’s better than acres of asphalt runoff, but I’d still prefer a pit filled with vipers.
