Les Paul vs Strat

Both iconic and brilliant in different ways, but I've always felt like the Les Paul is cooler, more rock n roll in a way that the strat can't match. The images below sum it up. 

This is also basically me trying to get over myself so that I can add a strat to my collection. 

So arguments for and against please...

    I have both, my first ever guitar was a strat though so I guess that makes me a strat player mainly. But I do love playing my Les Paul and I have 3 LP style guitars. At the time I was starting to play there were alot of strat players around, Eric Clapton being one of them though he did use a LP in Cream I believe. As I got more into heavier styles the LP also came into it more, but I do like to use it on a clean sound with pretty reverb.

    Looks are irrelevant to me I couldn't give a shit about how it looks on me. If it feels nice to play and makes the nicest sounds that's all I care about.

    Les Pauls are nice too, but not in the same way.

    Les Paul is infinitely cooler but the Strat is more reliable.
