Finding the damn pound symbol on a non-UK keyboard is just too much trouble. I just copy-paste it because who has the brain cells to spare for a symbol that you only ever use on one site (this one)? 

(I did look up the keystrokes for it somewhere once, but they didn't work in my browser and it wasn't worth wasting the effort on figuring out why not. <ctrl><insert> followed by <shift> <insert> is easier and faster.)

(No punchline because it's not Friday.)

^^  Peter Cook's delivery is just brilliant. How he kept so deadpan throughout I do not know. Cleese was struggling to keep it together at one point.

Weirdly, today in work someone asked if I knew how to type e-acute and I said "try Ctrl+AltGr+E".  She was amazed.

That's the only keyboard shortcut I know, and only because I read it here two days ago.

I think that's the peak moment of my career.  I'm going to retire.
