  • So, now I've balanced the modelled pre-amp and real pre-amp in 4CM, I can not longer hear it through headphones as it is too quiet. Which makes me think I'm going to have a problem running it into the PA (I have the headphones linked to the XLR our I was going to use for the PA).

    Bugger.

  • Something's not right there mate
are you sure you are using the correct send and return sockets on the helix
i screwed up once using them top to bottom instead of left to right and felt a right diddy

  • I'm sure the cabling is right and it is working...it's just that sending the signal through the TH-30 pre-amp seems to attenuate it so much that it is barely audible unless I crank the main volume control right up - but then everything else is out of balance.

You'd think turning up the TH-30 pre-amp volume would compensate but it makes hardly any difference. Weird.

  • That is soooo unusual I can't help but think it's wired wrong
i know I sound like a broken record and I know you've checked it and checked it again but nothing else makes sense
sorry it must be so frustrating people just telling you to check stuff over and over again but I can't imagine any other scenario where that would happen

Unless the TH30 fx loop is as badly placed as half the others on the market - then it makes sense!

Oh man this is a cool patch. Control headphone/in-ear mix of guitar and vocal, with bonus backing/aux channel (to which you could add Ext2 for total control over what you're hearing)

    Nice.

    Red ones are better.

  • That's good I was 99% certain it should work..but seeing as I just put my Bass Pod on ebay and someone bid in it 5 mins later I thought I best find out before that goes out! Cheers! :)

I'm pretty upset. The pedal in my Helix LT just broke down after a few days with a crackling noise. I will now have to return it to Thomann and see what they say. I bought as B-stock and a very slight crackling has always been there and I thought it would go away with use. However, it got worse in the last few days as I have been using it for a couple of songs.

Btw, if I return the Helix how can I save the presets I've created in the meantime?

edit: ok, I figured it out, I can export the full bundle into my pc.

  • So I was trying to get a kind of roaring Marshall sound tonight but all of the Marshall amp models seem to be very flubby in the low end...I've tried low cut but it doesn't seem to tighten it up...what do people do to get that tone?
