I'm off the bike until March now.
I need to pick it up from the dealer in a few days but then I am putting it under cover for a couple of months.
Let me know when you want to ride again and I'll take you out for an easy, confidence-building ride out.

    For sure mate.

I'm doing my tests in a couple of weeks and then doing DA in early March.

Bloody hell, the weather down the South-West's still a bit ropy, isn't it? :o just fetched the NTV back from Bristol, talk about a baptism of fire - horizontal rain, 40mph cross-winds, the works! Still, if that's the toughest ride I do all winter I can live with it...
Good lord. Bet it still felt good though. I love that new bike feeling.

I'll be around for a ride too in March, will try to get on a few LB rideouts this year. As already offered by Ben, if you want a ride out somewhere to build your confidence I'm more than happy to join you.

One of the best ways to build confidence is to ride off road, there are loads of places that do off road courses and they supply the bikes. Helps you to react to slides (front or back) correctly and might just save that crash on diesel or wet / gravel patch.

It's also bloody good fun but hard work, if you're not sweating you're not trying.

Then this would be easy !

Looks good. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
In other news I had to take my bike in for some work today as it failed the MOT on leaking fork seals. They're a decent bunch and lent me a bike while mine was in. Talk about chalk and cheese. Mine is a cbf1000 and has the Fireblade engine, detuned for less bhp but more torque. You barely need to touch the throttle to move off and it will pull happily from 20mph in top gear. The dealer lent me the 600 version of the same bike. I needed to rev the bollocks off it to pull away and there was nothing happening below 3000rpm. The clutch was either on or off too, no feel to it at all. Better front brake though, I think I'll have to have a tinker with mine to see if I can improve it somehow.

I just watched TT3D Closer to The Edge

What a film, Ive enjoyed the Guy Martin stuff on tv but he is excellent in this, quirky and definitely edgy

All the guys on there are fearless though, well worth a watch.

Cheers, and I'm looking forward to it too.

I'm looking at doing some advanced rider training once I get through DAS.

Have you thought about what bike you might get after the DAS?
