Have to say I've enjoyed Ronaldo and Ibrahimovics non performances this championships.

Both have been fairly terrible from what I've seen, Ibrahimovic missed a sitter in his last game and Ronaldo topping it off with a missed penalty.

Perhaps it will reduce the egos a little bit? Perhaps not though!

I didn't see or read any post game comments but I bet he will blame his teammates/goal construction/atmospheric circumstances/god/cosmic energy for that missed pen.

Thing is, Ronaldo is the player he is at least in part because if the ego. He's unbelievable as a talent, and unbelievably driven as a result. It's hard to begrudge him a bit of it.

Oh, absolutely. The best of the best (being either football player or pianist or weightlifter) are at the top because they have to believe that there's nobody else better than them. Ego is one thing though, but it's the face and behaviour that goes with it that matters. He questions EVERY decision made by referee, cries after missed opportunity (he's can only blame himself for last night's) and is very happy to say that it's somebody else's fault.
Now, I'm not CR7'sure hater but there is an entertaining bit to it - seeing that every time they're about to win it all - they let their teams massively.

Every pro sportsman is selfish and has an ego.

The big difference is how you let that come across.

Look at Bale and how he is-talks up the team, how not one English player gets in, how he needs the team etc.

While I don't agree with how he's gone about his business, the differences are stark-you get the sense that all the Welsh camp like bale and celebrate his achievements, while I don't think it's the same with Ronaldo.

It has to be said his charity work-in particular paying £10,000+? For a kids operation is laudable.

Totally disagree with people saying all footballers are selfish with egos.

Most I've worked with are very driven and competitive, but that's not the same as selfish. Some of them aren't either of those things, they're just good at football and it's a job they do to pay the bills.

Yes, I am watching it too- it is so dull that my mind was wandering onto topics such as ball cam.
