Interesting to see tonight's game almost end up as shirts v skins.

Maybe if there's exytra time in the knockout stages we could have rush goalies. Or three-and-in instead of penalties.

On the pitch I've really enjoyed the tournament so far. No massive clear favourites and some really nice football has been played.

FIFA rankings mean nothing, they include friendlies. So, at one point Wales were in the top 10.

YOu could go on a series of friendlies against 10 crap teams, win them all and you'd be right up there at tht top of the rankings. Waste of time.

Belgium are very very average.

Spain would have had to work hard NOT to look good against Turkey who have been terrible.

My money is on Italy to win the whole thing. THey have the wherewithal to do it, very savvy.

Portugal are clearly a one man team, France are nothing special, Germany have yet to get going. Against any of the teams in the tournament so far, I would say England has a good chance.

It would be ace if we top the group and get N Ireland in the next round.

Id' like to see Wales tonk RUssia too. THe Russians have been rubbish.

Before this tournament Rooney's bieng rested would necessarily preclude him from being picked in the XI.

Not sure their economy has ever been that strong but I think that a lot of the wealth is held by few people and corruption is rife.

In all seriousness, this is a poor Russia side, England should have had 3 or 4 against them, they've no pace at the back and defending quite high-poor finishing means it's only 2-0 could and should be 4-0 really and we had a penalty shout.

We look like we can score every break, and they're pushing up more.

In fairness a good save by Hennessy kept it at 2-0.

What the hell has happened to Russia? They've gone from being a decent European side to utter horseshit.

England looking good, but again no goals to show for it. Henderson was unlucky with the volley. If no goals by 60mins, I'd like to see Rooney come on, see if he can't creat some opportunities for the strikers.

Too many changes to England from what I can see (with one eye half on the iPad)

Henderson is not (England) international standard IMO and I'm a Liverpool fan.

Sure you'll break them down eventually.

To an extent, but the other decent European countries have never really sunk to this level. You can't ever imagine Portugal or England ever regressing to the point where getting spanked by Wales wasn't even a surprise!

I dunno, Portugal are pretty shit this tournament.

Russia have had a bad tournament-it happens, I thought, before a ball was kicked they'd be the big threat for us (losing to England a formality).

You never know how much the fans disruption might have affected them too?
