Behold my massive board of pedals

A couple of updates to mine. Here's the big board, mostly used at home for recording and noodling:

@raymondlin what do you think of the isp? I hear there are a couple of versions, I could really use a gate that can do really choppy stuff and also just noise removal for the hard rock stuff.

There are 3 versions. There was the mk1, mk2 and G string.

Mk2 and g string is basically the same except the g string has a loop so you can run it both before the pre amp (at the end of your board) and then again in the effects loop with just 1 pedal. The mk2 however is half the price so I thought it was no point and just got one to put at the end of the board, with the option of getting another if I need. As for performance, it works, does what it says, and the knob you can adjust how much it gate off.

P.s. Much cheaper buying it from RGS, about £80. But I did see it on sale here at £100.

For the record, I have not tried other gate, namely Mooer or MXR but for the price - £80, compare to the other gate that you can get, the review suggests it is the best and I went with that.  I am happy with it

 

The MXR has 2 versions, one is £75 and the Smart Gate at £110.  I simply went for the ISP because you can get it from RGS for £80, compare to the feedback on TGP between them the ISP gets the best reviews and I thought why not, its only £5 more than the MXR.

 

It does draw 100mA though so quite power hungry.

Both are great, but the HoF has more control. I only use the Hall sounds on each, but the HoF has a longer tail and is capable of being a bit darker in sound.

Got one of those Bright Onions patchboxes a week or two ago - very handy & makes swapping between amps with/without effects loop less of a chore now..

Just finished wiring up my new board with lava cables tightrope kit. Was an iterative operation as I messed up a couple of the cables.  Got it working now though.  The spark > plimsoul > hoof shouldn't sound good, but sounds unbelievable. And the pickle vibe just send it into naughty land.
