A number of franchises, especially the larger ones like Call Of Duty, Microsoft where only allowed to buy the studios on the condition that these franchises don't become Microsoft exclusives, there where multiple court cases alone just for Microsoft's buy out of Activision.
The controller and Gamepass makes it the better machine for me. I've got both machines, but I spend most time on Xbox.
If I was into third-person adventures and sad-dad games then PS5 would be the more obvious choice, but HZD, The Last of Us, or Spiderman aren't my thing.

I'm using the kirkhammer, and putting every point I have into strength. It's comically powerful, but the blood starved beast one-shots me so I need to work something out for that...
It's almost like it was made for me - a twisted, eldritch horror themed game set in a dark, Victorian-esque landscape and a brilliant, slowly unravelling mystery.
Funny because I didn't really get on with elden ring!
I wish they'd port to pc. I wouldn't get it, but they might do a ps5 version at the same time. All I'd want is 60fps...
I wish I could forget it so I could play it for the first time again. I'll play it again anyway - I'm sure there's loads I missed.
I am currently downloading the recent Saints Row, which is free on Epic today. I loved 2, 3, and 4, so this'll either be fantastic or an unforgiveable travesty. Fingers crossed it's both...
Objectively the Dualsense is more advanced. I couldn't say which one is more suitable for FPS games as I don't play these competitively anymore. I did play BF3 on PC a lot but I used a RAT weighted mouse thing, and ran a Rainbow Six Vegas clan many years ago on Xbox 360 but I don't bother with them too much anymore.
Have you tried the new PS controller, out of interest? I bet if you played Astro you'd change your mind
For example, if you are firing a gun each gun has a different trigger response, a different firmness. If you fire an arrow you can feel the bow string being pulled back with varying tension, if you are driving a racing car, the brake trigger, the acceleration feels different on different terrain, with different traction and so on. It's a lot of fun and pretty unique in this regard.
Here we have the Dualshock 4 vs the Dualsense.
I prefer the vibrating triggers on Xbox for communicating grip and tyre slip.
